Jemma's Story

Every now and then I'd like to feature stories from my clients - I hope you enjoy them! First up, it's Jemma...

Jemma and I started running together a little over 2 years ago. We'd known each other since school but long since lost touch. When our eldest children started school we reconnected. It wasn't long before we chatted lots and both mourned the lack of time we'd get to exercise or even just time for ourselves.

Already a seasoned runner, I explained to Jemma that I ran with my baby in the buggy and perhaps she'd consider joining me with hers? She didn't think twice before saying yes, and the rest, they say, is history!

We've had some fantastic runs and the children have great memories of running with us.

Despite agreeing to run with me, Jemma was always adamant she could "never be a runner". With some gentle coaching and technique corrections, it wasn't long before Jemma ran and completed her first half marathon!

I think she'd be happy for me to say that after that she had the bug! After a small break at the end of her third pregnancy and proper recovery after giving birth, Jemma quickly returned to running, this time with a baby (who was strong enough to join us - a baby must always be able to hold their own head solidly) joining us. Within 6 months she was racing again and completing the Plymouth 10k Race.

With a training plan from me in place, Jemma is now training for the London Marathon in April this year. I'm confident that she is going to absolutely smash it!
